Three spots shot in three days, each involving a different level of set construction and having its own difficulties.
The concept for the first spot was a traveling circus parade that would roll through a suburban neighbourhood while that whole town comes out to see what’s happening. The motif for the three spots was ‘BIG,’ especially in the circus spot, where we designed and built a 14’ tall cordless phone to go on the parade float.
For the second spot, we recreated ‘old faithful’ in a ski hill parking lot, and aside from matching the details of Yellowstone National Park, the other major factor in this was constructing a functional geyser that we could have our crew operating from out of frame.
The third spot was the smallest scale, and involved building a large-scale mailbox and letter for a forced-perspective ‘big bill’ gag.
