This was a Christmas commercial for JC Penny. One of the crucial elements in the story was a Giant Rocket built by a five-year-old girl so that she can blast off to visit Santa Claus at the North Pole.
Between the Director and the Agency the direction for the rocket design changed quite a bit, even during the build. The end result was a really sweet, whimsical rocket built from many different elements – including airplane parts, vintage refrigerators, sports equipment, and hoses. In addition to the rocket, we also built a Christmas book for this commercial, including the illustrations, binding and gold leaf.
